Built for investors who want conviction with limits.
Storm Root Edge designs adaptive allocation models for crypto portfolios, with a deliberate focus on explicit risk boundaries over speculative upside. This page outlines who we are, how we got here, and what guides our decisions.
Started with a narrow, specific problem
Storm Root Edge began as an internal research effort focused on a single question: could a rules-based allocation model reduce the drawdown volatility of a crypto portfolio without abandoning the asset class's upside entirely? Early testing showed that most existing tools optimized purely for returns, treating risk controls as an afterthought rather than a core design constraint.
That gap became the starting point for the product. Rather than building a signal-generation engine first and bolting on risk management later, we inverted the process — defining acceptable risk parameters first, then building allocation logic to operate within them.
The result is a platform oriented around discipline rather than prediction, intended for investors who are comfortable with crypto exposure but uncomfortable with unmanaged tail risk.
Why we build this way
Our mission is to give crypto investors a portfolio tool that treats risk boundaries as non-negotiable, not adjustable after the fact. We build models designed to operate consistently inside stated constraints, and we document the logic behind those constraints so users are not asked to trust a black box.
What guides day-to-day decisions
Risk limits before performance targets
Every model change is evaluated against defined risk parameters before it is evaluated for return potential. Constraints are not a secondary check.
No unexplainable logic
If a model's behavior can't be described in plain terms to a user, it isn't ready to be deployed. We favor auditable rules over opaque optimization.
Caution over speed
We would rather ship a conservative update on schedule than rush a more aggressive one. Changes to live allocation logic go through staged review.
A small, focused group
Storm Root Edge is run by a compact team spanning quantitative model development, platform engineering, and portfolio risk oversight. We intentionally keep the group small enough that changes to allocation logic are reviewed by people who understand the full system, rather than isolated components of it.
We don't publish individual profiles here, as our focus is on the process and controls behind the platform rather than personal branding. Specific questions about our team or operating structure can be directed through our contact page.
How the team is organized
| Model Research | Allocation logic, backtesting, constraint design |
| Platform Engineering | Infrastructure, execution, uptime |
| Risk Oversight | Boundary review, staged rollout approval |
| Client Operations | Onboarding, support, documentation |
Structure shown reflects functional areas, not an org chart of named individuals.
Still a focused product, on purpose
Storm Root Edge remains deliberately narrow in scope. We are not building a general trading platform or a full-service brokerage. Our attention stays on one problem — allocation within defined risk limits — and on refining that model rather than expanding into adjacent products.
